I’m Jaclyn Lowe, and welcome to The Uncommon Lifestyle Co.
If you’re here to simplify your life in any aspect, you’re in the right place!
As a certified person trainer, the UL was originally born from the concept of overall good health being more UNCOMMON than being unhealthy. Here in the U.S., our health statistics are abysmal. I would love to be a small part of changing that; particularly for women and mothers. The Uncommon Lifestyle has since evolved into an entire umbrella concept of the overall simplification of LIFE in general.
When I zoom out and look at the big picture, I believe that many of the obstacles on our path to a better wellbeing are all of the contradicting, extreme measures and methods that constantly fill our feeds. The concept of instant gratification and having the best of the best is quite a beast in this Pinterest Perfect era we’ve been living in for quite some time now.
For me, these things rang true at one point in my life:
- I thought I had to cut out entire food groups or have the perfect training split in order to have a body I loved.
- I found it very easy to get caught up in the overconsumption of social media, leading to the never-ending feeling of “not being or having enough.”
- I yearned for years to have a “forever house.” Not a home full of the people I loved where we’d make memories, but a house that was Pinterest Perfect or Instagram worthy.
And…dont get me wrong. I do believe in general health protocols for fitness and diet. I also appreciate a beautiful aesthetic and hope to have a home I find peace in, one day. Social media isn’t all bad, so long as we understand the importance of what and who we virtually surround ourselves with. Awareness is key.
If you’re a busy woman and/or mother like me and you feel stuck; be it your health, career, or life in general…there is good news. The truth of the matter is, we’re overcomplicating it, overthinking it, and making a chaotic mess of what is truly simple at its core.
What I’ve found to be true is this: if it’s simple and enjoyable, it’ll be sustainable. The all or nothing mindset with the desire for perfection is a fast track to burnout. If it isnt something we actually enjoy doing, we aren’t going to keep doing it. Instead, I want to create a community of women who are striving simply for progress and presence in life. Slowing down, making small changes in the general direction of our goals is sustainable. And shouldn’t the goals of health, progress and presence be for life?
Whether it’s through simple workouts, easy and quick meal ideas, or mindset shifts to keep us grounded in our purpose, my hope for The Uncommon Lifestyle Co is to help women see past the constantly busy, fancy, and trendy. To live life more intentionally. To take things back to a time where we cherished quality time and quality of life over keeping up with the Jones’.
I’d love nothing more than for you to stick around and find out what it means to live The Uncommon Lifestyle, together.
With Love,
Jaclyn
